What is Viagra?
Viagra is a drug that's intended to treat erectile dysfunction.
Generic Viagra is available in tablets that are to be orally consumed.

How does Viagra work?

How to Take Viagra?
In a majority of cases, when generic Viagra is prescribed, patients are required to consume the medication an hour prior to sexual intercourse. The usual dose recommendation is 50 mg. Despite the one hour minimum period, generic Viagra can also be consumed up to 5 hours before sexual activity. Depending upon generic Viagra's effectiveness and the patient's endurance, the dose could be increased to a maximum of 100 mg or even decreased to 25 mg. Generic Viagra is to be consumed only once a day.
If you take the tablet after a high-fat meal, it could take a little longer to start reacting.
Side effects of Viagra
It is very probable that you may experience mild side effects after consumption of generic Viagra. The symptoms do not last for more than a few hours; it is believed that side effects are more prone to occur with higher doses.
- Common side effects of generic Viagra include headaches, flushing of the face and upset stomach.
- Less common side effects are temporary changes in color vision, eyes being more sensitive to light or blurred vision.
- Lasting of an erection for many hours. Contact your physician if an erection lasts more than 4 hours, or else you may experience permanent damage to your penis.
- Occurrences of Heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeats and death have been reported on rare occasions after consumption of Sildenafil citrate. However, the majority of such patients had heart problems prior to taking this medicine. Reports are not conclusive whether such events were directly related to generic Viagra.
- Chest pain, nausea, or any other discomforts during sex need immediate medical help.
- Sudden decrease or loss of hearing has been reported on rare instances by those who take PDE5 inhibitors, including Viagra. Contact a doctor right away.
- Generic Viagra can cause mild, temporary lowering of your blood pressure.
What should I discuss with my doctor before taking Viagra?
Only a doctor is authorized to recommend generic Viagra. After a medical exam to identify your erectile dysfunction a doctor can suggest if you could safely take Generic Viagra alone or with any other medication you're on.
Disclose your medical history to your physician. Discuss general health to determine if you're healthy to engage in sexual activity. Disclose the following:

What should I avoid while taking Viagra?
When consuming generic Viagra reduce alcohol intake as excessive consumption may worsen side effects. Consumption of high-fat foods as it could cause a delay in the time needed to assist an erection so try not to include this in your diet. Since medication may cause dizziness, avoid acts like driving. To avoid dizziness and light-headedness, rise slowly from a seated or lying position. If you are an elderly person, your risk of side effects is increased. As such your dose could be a single dose of 25 mg in a 48-hour period. Avoid consuming more than the specified dose at all times.
